Thoughts of a minibus traveller

  One of them days when rain falling, windows have to close, rain stop, place hot, windows have to open. Then rain start falling , in that kind of straight way when no breeze blowing and it is possible to leave the window open, look out.  A kind of brave crazy thing to do because if rain blow in and wet up the place in this season it will take long to dry.  But is nice though, kind of enjoying the rain while sheltering - well in places where the roof not leaking.  There is a nice lush wetness. Mosquitoes buzzing around in the day time as is now the norm , sometimes more than night time. Rains welcome though after a long hot dry season which did not kill off the mosquitoes. Things different these days, climate and so.  Same day as I enjoy the rain through the open window, some strange news about the PPP's 'plans' to deal with corruption . , having sting operations and so. Humid morning and sweeping yard results in more sweat than usual.  Stand up and realise that cat sleeping among the unused benches.  Cat sleeping through sound of pointer broom scraping concrete and things knocking.  Mind full of things which I have to do, and things I want to do but cannot do, and things which need to be done but I aint able do. The cats passing through usually move away when they hear or see me.  Short sighted and place dark and with sweat dripping I move closer and almost don't breathe to see if the cat breathing.  I see the slight body movements.. so cat is alive. I get camera, make sure I wipe sweat from the palms. Set up to take picture and the cat opens eyes and gives me this look. Man who had a cat walking over his phone and laptop  and who told me that I need a cat to deal with the mice.. tells me that the eyes are hopeful and say "I want to be your friend" I is not a cat or dog lover. Cats though can move through the yard and so...

Grating coconut Place is humid, rain set up. Back step is dry. I pick up coconut and the kuknee and think right, hustle up.. grate the coconut, before rain comes down and wet the back step.  The day before , menu had to be changed because back step was soaking wet with the overnight rain. And I did not have anywhere else really to grate the coconut.  Rain starts drizzling, and I hustle up, break the coconut .   Sit down, and start moving and some of the rain drops sprinkle on me and I think maybe fall in the coconut.  Kuknee  is older than me , always been around. I need kucknee and a back step to grate coconut, knowing no other way to position get the right leverage to kind of move the coconut around the blade. Indian Arrival 5 May, Indian Arrival Day. Rain drizzling and I think right, wondering if I lived in a logie, I would have needed some strong bench or tree trunk or something to sit to grate coconut. Or maybe men did not have to grate coconut.  ...
