AntivirusGy 19: Celebrating Eve and dancing with God

Image
Celebrating Eve   We started talking about Toni Morrisson and wondered if she had written any poems and then found Eve Remembering i n which the poet imagines Eve saying "I would do it all over again:" ... and we were in awe that well.. Eve would have no shame for the 'sin' of eating the apple.  We had a discussion about innocence and sin, and whether it would be better to be innocent than face life's problems.. a discussion which got emotional at times and a lesson on how poetry can evoke strong emotions in some people while well.. nothing in other people.. We agreed that we didn't understand 'The Perfect Ease of Grain' , and tried to work out what it meant and put it down to one of those things like the beautiful clip from Wilson Harris shared in the Afterword of the Chapter & Verse: Wilson Harris organised by Moray House Trust  which we might never understand. The discussion of understanding continued with the   The Second Coming by William B

Writing the specks of light to clear the mind..

Image
Cleaning the house and I notice what I think might flakes of paint on the floor and then realise that there are specks of light which are shaped like the flakes of paint which drop off the wall.   Something about the way the light is on the tile and the floor and I run for the camera to take a picture thinking that this would be something to write about.  Taking the picture and seeing that unlike the light which would disappear later without my hand, there are bits of dust in the corner which I would not have seen otherwise and I realise that cleaning is well not always cleaning.. like how clearing the mind is not always clearing the mind and there are things which dwell, lurk , remain which should also be cleared out. So I take the picture and think what to write.. about temporary things like shadows and light; or about the things unnoticed like the dust which is deep in the corner which if I was not looking for light I would not have seen. But the image sits there on the desktop

Dahee with elaichi after Facebook Protect locked me out permanently..

Image
Dahee with elaichi   The dahee is thick, and light. Almost like ice-cream.  The recipe is to take some old dahee - yoghurt- and put in the bowl with thickish milk. I leave in the sun. On rainy days, the dahee becomes thin.  So I make a set to eat a lil bit each day as a kind of  'sugar free' dessert with banana. I went to market yesterday so there is pawpaw and passion fruit. I leave in the fridge for a bit for everything to cool nicely. Put some whole  elaichi - cardamom- and cinnamon.  There is a mindfulness in the assembly because I want to take a picture to write this blog because I have not written anything for awhile.  Position the bowl in different places to get the light and to see if the dahee could show as the scoops. Passion fruit is smelling nice.  Eat it slowly.. when teeth crunch on the elaichi seeds there is a nice burst of flavour.  Sweetness without shugah.   I would have posted the picture on Facebook but..   Facebook Protect-ing itself from me   The email
