One hour in the hot sun with Guyanese for Gaza..

Hot sun 

3pm and sun hot bad on the railway line outside CARICOM headquarters.   

There is a gathering , a protest, to call on CARICOM leaders to break diplomatic ties with genocidal Israel if they really serious about ceasefire on Gaza.

No trees for shade, lots of concrete and glass and some token plants. I imagine this is what heat must be like in the Middle East. There is breeze here, but the tent - tents can also be hot as well.

Israel has uprooted olive trees in Palestine as part of the genocide. (In Guyana, though DDL has tied bundle with the genocidal Government to do agriculture )

The Government of Guyana has started destruction of a Samaan tree in my area which has provided shade for people. Tree apparently standing in the way of progress and development, and near to community land being invaded by private sector interests without objection from the Government.

 Guyanese for Gaza 

British traveller waves the Palestinian flag. He did not know much of the history. He was surprised to learn that the Europeans created Israel because the history of Europe is a history of antisemitism. 

"So do you know the people here?" .. he asked me. 

The people.. the 'Guyanese' for Gaza - Candacy 'Quincy' McEwan, transgender citizen, litigant against the Government in the cross-dressing case.   

Yep.. Israel has pinkwashed the genocide, Israel has 'gay rights' while Palestine does not, but many know that gay liberation is not gay Israelis killing children and adults.

And two women wearing hijab. 

And Sherlina Nageer, standing in the hot sun, the PPP/C continues to endorse the man who called for the PPP/C women to slap and strip her; 

and Danuta Radzik and Vanda Radzik who have had to take the Government to court on environmental issues and who the PPP/C  describes as 'obstructionist', 

and a group of people wearing the tee-shirt of the Organisation for the Victory of the People and some wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh scarf, and 

women from Red Thread , also called obstructionist and opposition by PPP/C folk

and sometime in the morning Christian and Muslim leaders and a former PPP/C leader.. 

and so this mix of Guyanese for the liberation of Palestine, some fighting for Liberation of people in Guyana, 

and at least one who has endorsed the structures which result in the destruction of trees which provide shade 

United though in recognising that genocide must be condemned.

Turpentine mango madness

Some of the mango was stuck on the stubble around my mouth. I looked at the mirror, a bit of shame because I had just collected an invitation from a well dressed guy and I wonder how I must have looked to him.. look at dis big man .. he cyan eat mango good . The turpentine mango is useless when it is green - it tastes awful, like turpentine.  Mother Nature works a miracle because the ripe one though, is sweet, juicy, no strings and no turpentine taste. Y ou are 16 years old and many people hope that 16 years old would be close to completing school. I am sorry that we could not make things good for you to be in school. What dreams did you have?
