Marijuana, rain and the Bus man wanting long hair like the woman's..

 

Marijuana 

So men mostly smoking ganja all over.. construction workers, men working on the garbage truck.

Youth on the road, some of them outside the Chinese supermarket, some of them rolling openly near the lady selling sweetie and candy and thing which children might want to buy from her - some youngsters gaffing one day and rolling up early afternoon.

No sense that any conversation about dangers and 'responsible' use.

Two mild mannered bus drivers I know, during the lunch break.. one under the tree , teking his spliff. The other one, taking one as he checks bus and gets ready for work.

Doesn't marijuana use impair driving? The guys though, when they drive , they calm, not like them that drinking red bull and guiness and probably smoking up other things..

And in the market, another bus driver, young man, early Saturday, vendor

How many drivers on the road smoking marijuana? The Colorado Department of Transportation say wait 6 hours or longer, but we arite in Guyana, maybe the ganja don't make us so high like the one in Colorado. 

Bus man wanting long hair like the woman 

Jump in the old bus driven by man I know don't smoke Marijuana. He used to be dress with the Kufi, and some interesting prints. These days, hair pressed down, wearing a mala. Listening to Myles Munroe sermon. Talking randomly and I am not sure if he talking to me, or on the phone. He has the phone I think strapped on his arm.  

Woman in the bus, he ask her if she want to come front seat and she say no. He say.. 'I want me hair long like you own.. how ah could get it"?  I like eh.. , woman reply.. 'I doan know..'

Bus man say,, you sure.. but he keep driving and so, Myles Munroe preaching quietly.

Trying to imagine the new pick up lines/harassment comments.. in the gender fluid 2024.. 'where I could get a nice dress like yours.. ?, where I could get my nails done like yours.. 

The construction workers who smoking ganja though, still harassing the women passing them. Maybe their ganja mixed with other things to keep them going.  

Rain

I feel nice when I see an orange flower on the tree after a long time, the rain bring it back. Rain though opening up holes in the roof , and the doctors going up and fix and it not fixing and so on. But the flower nice, and I glad I not feeling like I need a lil high to sort out things which need fixing

Some of the mango was stuck on the stubble around my mouth. I looked at the mirror, a bit of shame because I had just collected an invitation from a well dressed guy and I wonder how I must have looked to him.. look at dis big man .. he cyan eat mango good . Thing is.. wiping off mango from stubble is difficult.. and the casual swipe with a hand which might have some juice is also useless. The turpentine mango is useless when it is green - it tastes awful, like turpentine.  Mother Nature works a miracle because the ripe one though, is sweet, juicy, no strings and no turpentine taste. Going into the unknown at the Indigenous Heritage Exhibtion 2024

 (The Moving Circle of Artists' work is presented in the 2024 Indigenous Heritage Exhibition at Castellani House until 30 September, 2024. ) There was no print catalogue available. The QR code image was around, but I did not have the technology to use the QR code even with assistance of the attendants. I hope the organisers will put labels on the work items for viewers who cannot access the QR code. I apologise to the artists whose work I reference without the proper attributions Going into the unknown Place hot and I feeling a lil jumpy despite the yoga routine earlier in the day. Some unexpected challenges which pile up and then come in to chill out in the gallery and find that I have to do guess work on the art and so.
