Fishing at midnight under the beautiful moon

(This has been inspired by the image of a big man hugging up a bigger man allegedly at midnight on a moonlight night when they went fishing )

The phone rang and Baba P reached over and saw that it was Papa P calling. He watched the time and cursed.

What the hell he want now? Is 10pm.

He was feeling nice and comfy in the matching pajamas that he liked to wear with his family.

All day he had been sitting in an air conditioned room wearing a heavy suit and watching faces on TV screens from other lands and listening to people from other lands who wanted to invest in the company he and PapaP were running, Gudyana.

Papa P had managed to find a way to take over the company and the shareholders. The condition was that Baba P had to become CEO.  Baba P did not mind.

There had been an attempt at a hostile takeover from some shareholders but that did not work out and now Papa P was working to make sure that no more take overs or so. At least  that is what Baba P thought. He could never be sure what Papa P was doing and he liked to listen to when Papa P talked to the press and so.

He got out of the bed and went to the window. He didn't want to wake up his wife.

Baba P pressed the green button. He looked out at the moon on the nice garden. "Hello.." he said cautiously.

Papa P sounded strong and healthy. "Aye.. is moonlight, leh we go and fish.. come for me now "

Phone hang up. Baba P remembered that there was something about curfew and rules for the shareholders in Gudyana. He had seen that people were being arrested for having parties and breaching the curfew.

He didn't know if the by-law applied to him and Papa P though.

Baba P dared not call back.  He decided to hell with it. He did not bother to change from his nice warm long sleeve pajamas.

He liked the gray colour to sleep in. He put on his slippers as  away of resisting Papa P's authority.

He called up his retinue and then went to get Papa P.

Papa P was fully dressed, had all the fishing gear. Papa P was like that. Always ready and so, got everything.

During the hour long drive, Papa P talked about the plans and so for the next week and the other things he planned for Gudyana. Baba P tried not to fall asleep.

They reached the lake and came out. It was nice and cool, a lil chilly. Baba P wished he had put on some long pants and shoes like Papa P had done.

He also remembered all the stories from boyhood about things in the lake and so on. Papa P was fearless though.

Moon reflected on the surface of the lake. Baba P and Papa P threw the lines. The men who were with them kept watch . Some of the men were a little nervous.. midnight and moonlight in remote places .. they heard the stories too about things in the lake which guns could not kill.

They threw the lines. Papa P stopped talking. Baba P was glad for the silence.  He was feeling cold and wanted to go back to his nice warm bed.

His phone pinged.

Papa P looked at him sternly. Shush

Message flashed on the screen. 'Voice note"

From the company lawyer.

Baba P moved away to listen.

Baba P's wife had seen the note he had written and called the company lawyer.

The lawyer sounded drunk and was cussing in the voice note about how he work hard and that he had not been able to change the by-laws yet to ensure that Baba P and Papa P had full impunity from the laws and that his head hurting. "Yall lef and go f--ing home"

The lawyer did not call Papa P and Baba P was afraid to tell the company lawyer to call Papa P.

The angry cussing on the voice note was different from the nice moon light on the calm lake.

Baba P messaged back. 'I can't leave, Papa deh in a mood'

No reply.

Baba P had an idea. He took out his second phone. He messaged the police to say that some suspicious vehicles had passed to the lake.

He went and stood up next to Papa P again.  After a good hour, they heard the sirens coming down the road.

Papa P seemed to be bored with the fishing and was talking about some of the other company by-laws he was going to overrule. Finally, Papa P said.. arite time to go.

Baba P was happy. He went and put his arm on Papa P shoulder and ask one of the men to take a picture.

Baba P knew that it would reassure the shareholders in Gudyana that things were good between him and Papa P, and that other investors knew that they did not have to worry with the company by-laws and so on when it came to things like curfew and so.

Papa P kind of smiled and tried to keep some distance from Baba P and not look like if he was Baba P's teddy bear or leaning post.

Baba P posted the image as they drove away and soon.

All the shareholders celebrated that the Baba P and Papa P were nice and happy together.
