Dear decent coolie man who join up wid de woman-haters...
I saw your name on the list for the PPP .
The shock is deep.. whether that instead of quitting Guyana or being vocal at whatever despair you feel about Granger , Guyana and his government, you have decided that it is better to join with slap-and-strip-bheri and with anil and the man who was accused of raping and beating his girl friend.
I thought you were interested in social justice. I know that it was rough, being a coolie man and taking a leadership position and then I noticed you became silent. I assumed that the pressure was on. Were you serious about the anti alcohol work? Were you serious about dealing with gender based violence?
I know your business has suffered. I don't know if there are other people who regret not coming out stronger for Jagdeo and bheri and anil , and other abusers and who feel that coolie people could prosper with Jagdeo-with-bheri-and-anil-and-thers rather than with
We had talked long about everything what was wrong with the PPP.. what happened? Do you not see anyway you can stand independent of the PPP and fix the problems in your community? Are you so frightened of black people and Granger that you prefer the company of bheri and anil rather than find ways to mobilise others who used to think like you and break free of the chains?
You were concerned during the PPP years at how the PPP constantly failed in delivering the services to your community. Most recently you said you wanted to deal with suicide prevention.
Are things so bad for you now since May 2015, you think that joining with the people who made sure they did nothing about suicide prevention and ensured that alcohol and gramoxone are more widely available than serious help will change things ?
Will you be there in 2020 with Jagdeo and bheri and the others? Do you want the young Hindu men around you to think that it is okay to make fake apologies for abusing women? Do you want the young Hindu women around you to think it is okay to remain silent, shut up, and mark their X for the men who have no problem with abuse and violence?
If this is how you feel, what are the others feeling? How can this be fixed? What does your choice mean for other Hindus like me who admired you and respected you? What does this mean for coolie people and black people in Guyana?
Much love.
